Perry Beeches Baptist Church Newsletter November 2025

Welcome to This Edition of the Perry Beeches Baptist Church Newsletter

Welcome to the latest edition of the Perry Beeches Baptist Church Newsletter! As we look back over the past few months, we are thankful for the many opportunities God has given us to gather, serve, celebrate, and strengthen our community.

From uplifting worship events and meaningful outreach to joyful trips, shared meals, and growing partnerships, this season has truly shown the beauty of fellowship in Christ. We pray that as you read through these stories, you will be encouraged, inspired, and reminded of God’s goodness at work in and through our church family.

Partnering to Change Young Lives

On Sunday 11th May, we were delighted to welcome Hannah Lawlor from the Christian charity Transforming Lives for Good (TLG), who led our morning service. Hannah shared about the amazing work TLG is doing to support children and young people facing difficult circumstances.

As a church, we already partner with TLG through the Make Lunch programme, providing meals and care for children during school holidays. Now, we’re excited to take our involvement a step further by joining their Early Intervention initiative.

After training, members of our church will have the opportunity to go into a local secondary school to offer one-to-one mentoring—building positive relationships and offering encouragement and hope to young people who need it most.

Building Community Connections Over Tea and Fellowship

On Wednesday 12th June, members of Perry Beeches Baptist Church were invited to enjoy Afternoon Tea at James Watt College a special community event organised by the college to bring together local groups, schools, and businesses.

Around 30 people from our church attended and were warmly welcomed by Principal Ramdeep Sami, along with college staff and students. The afternoon featured a lovely spread of food, friendly conversations, and a true sense of community spirit.

We are especially thankful for our ongoing partnership with James Watt College, where our own Pastor Tracy Sweet serves as chaplain. Events like this highlight the wonderful ways we can connect, support, and share God’s love beyond the walls of our church.

A Day of Fun, Fellowship and Seaside Memories

Our annual church trip took place in July, and this year’s destination was the beloved Barry Island! Though the day began wet and windy, the clouds soon cleared, leaving us with bright skies, sea breezes, and plenty of laughter.

The coach was full as members and friends of Perry Beeches set off together for a day of seaside fun. Once there, everyone enjoyed the freedom to explore  some relaxed on the beach, others-built sandcastles or paddled in the sea, while a few treated themselves to fish and chips or ice cream along the promenade.

By the time we boarded the coach home, there were smiles all around a bus full of tired but happy travelers, grateful for a day of fellowship, fun, and shared memories. We’re already looking forward to next year’s adventure!

Make Lunch & Messy Church

On Tuesday 13th August, we held a special Make Lunch and Messy Church event, bringing together more than fifty children, parents, and helpers for a joyful summer afternoon.

With the sun shining, everyone joined in creative craft activities, making their own picnic boxes before heading outside to enjoy lunch on the grass. During the session, we shared the Bible story of Jesus feeding the five thousand a beautiful reminder of God’s abundance and care for His people.

There was plenty of food, laughter, and connection throughout the day. We’re thankful for the support of TLG (Transforming Lives for Good), who helped with the costs and continue to partner with us in reaching local families. Seeds were sown and relationships built, as our church family shared God’s love in action.

Four Stories. One Faith. One Powerful Day.

Sunday 7th September was a truly joyful and unforgettable day at Perry Beeches Baptist Church as we celebrated the baptism of four individuals — Rohan, Jordanne, Mya and Shauna. Each came with their own story, their own journey, and their own reason for choosing to follow Jesus, yet all were united in one shared faith.

The church was full as family, friends, and the wider church community gathered to rejoice together. One by one, powerful and deeply personal testimonies were shared — stories of hope, healing, transformation, and God’s faithfulness at work in real lives. These moments reminded us that while every journey is different, God’s grace meets each of us exactly where we are.

Baptism is a public declaration of faith, and it was a privilege to witness these four brothers and sisters take this important step in their walk with Christ. As they went through the waters of baptism, the church stood together in celebration, prayer, and commitment to support and encourage them in the days ahead.
