Celebrating Our Annual Community Fun Day in Our 80th Anniversary Year

What a wonderful day of sunshine, laughter, fellowship and community!

On Saturday 27th June 2026, the grounds of Perry Beeches Baptist Church came alive as families, friends, neighbors and visitors joined us for our much-loved Annual Community Fun Day made even more special this year as part of our 80th Anniversary celebrations.

And the weather certainly played its part! With glorious sunshine and soaring temperatures, families came out in large numbers to enjoy a fantastic day together.

Fun for All the Family

From the moment the Fun Day began, there was a real sense of excitement around the church grounds.

Children enjoyed the bouncy castles, face painting, games and activities, while our variety of stalls gave visitors plenty to explore. Food, refreshments and the barbecue added to the atmosphere, providing the perfect opportunity for people to sit down, relax, talk and enjoy one another’s company.

But beyond the activities, food and entertainment, what made the day particularly special was simply seeing people coming together.

Old friends caught up, new friendships were made, children played together and members of the church had the opportunity to meet and talk with people from across our local community.

More Than Just a Fun Day

Our Community Fun Day has always been about more than providing entertainment.

It is an opportunity for Perry Beeches Baptist Church to open its doors and grounds and remind our neighbours that the church is very much a part of the community around us.

Throughout the year, Perry Beeches is home to far more than our Sunday worship services. Our church family and buildings are busy during the week with activities including our Toddler Group, Ladies Fellowship, Youth Bible Study, Café, Food Bank, Friendship Group, Bible studies and prayer meetings, alongside our work with children, young people and people of all generations.

The Fun Day gave us an opportunity to share some of that with people who may not normally walk through the doors of the church.

For some, it may have been their first real conversation with someone from Perry Beeches. For others, it was simply an opportunity to discover that there is a welcoming church community on their doorstep.

In many ways, this is faith in action sharing the love of Christ through welcome, friendship, hospitality and service.

Sometimes the most meaningful conversations begin over a cup of tea, at a barbecue, beside a children’s activity or simply by taking the time to say hello.

80 Years at the Heart of the Community

This year’s Fun Day carried an additional significance as Perry Beeches Baptist Church celebrates 80 years of ministry, fellowship and service.

Our anniversary is naturally a time to look back and give thanks for all that God has done through generations of people who have worshipped and served here.

But it is also about looking forward.

Seeing so many children, young people, families and members of the wider community enjoying the church grounds was a wonderful reminder that our story continues.

The buildings may have stood here for generations, but the mission remains as important today as ever: to worship God, share the Gospel, serve others and be a place where people can find friendship, fellowship and belonging.

A day like this does not happen without many people working behind the scenes.

We would therefore like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped organise the day, volunteered, prepared food, ran activities, hosted stalls, welcomed visitors, helped with setting up and clearing away, and contributed in so many different ways.

Thank you also to all our stallholders and, most importantly, to everyone from the local community who came along and shared the day with us.

You helped make our 2026 Community Fun Day a memorable part of Perry Beeches Baptist Church’s 80th Anniversary year.

After 80 years, our message remains simple:

Our doors are open. Our community is welcome. And there is a place for you at Perry Beeches Baptist Church.
